Resident Evil is a series of survival horror video games that have been also made into movies, comic books, and action figures. The series was created by created by Shinji Mikami and later developed by Capcom. The series contains many elements of the George A. Romero' zombie movies and have sold over 30 million copies. There are six games in the main series, most of which are spinoffs while others include the original characters from the first game. New installments to the series are currently being developed, including Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles to be released in November 2007.
